EQUIPMENT

Tanning Equipment Facts....... All Tanning Equipment is not created equal. Bethel Tan & Body Center has a broad mix of equipment and lamps with varying degrees of UVA/AVB ultraviolet rays.  In fact we offer 6 different lamp technologies delivering to you the widest range of configurations designed to give you "THE TAN THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU" regardless of your skin type.

Why 6 lamp technology choices?   Because everyone tans differently and this allows you as the Customer to see for yourself the results you desire.

LAMP TECHNOLOGY:
Type 1
Low-
Pressure
facials
-It is a known fact that the face is one of the most difficult parts of the body to tan and to maintain. Low pressure facial lamps usually sit back behind the full length lamps in a tanning bed to give the tanner a little extra in hard to tan areas - without being too intense. These are facial lamps featured in some of our lay down beds in the BASIC category.

Type 2
BASIC

-100 watt High Intensity lamps with our highest concentration of UVB (5-6.5%) Rays. Great for the person that already has a base tan or someone with a naturally dark skin already. It will give a terrific boast in their colour. We recommend that the Customer have a base tan already for best results.

Type 3
BROWN

-100 watt output lamps with 97.4% UVA rays (tanning rays) and less than 1.6% UVB (reddening rays). This type of lamp lets you tan with little-to-no redness or burning. The gentle tanning UVA rays will give you a beautiful bronze glow.
This is a great lamp for someone starting out the tanning process to build a base tan without burning.

Type 4
160W

-160 watt high output VHR lamps have been the biggest technology breakthrough in the modern tanning industry era. This lamp has a high concentration of UVA (tanning rays) and because of the high output coupled with many lamps....it becomes possible to obtain a great golden tan without the burning, in 1/3 the time (7-12 minutes).
This type of lamp is suitable for a first time tanner with lower minute exposure or for the well tanned person looking to get a deeper darker glow by increasing the time.

Type 5
200W

-200 watt very high output lamps work in the same premise as type 3 lamps but produce greater wattage output, therefore the maximum allowed time in this unit is 9 or 10 minutes. This is currently the most powerful lamp technology in the industry.

Type 6
High-Pressure

-High pressure bulbs are almost completely UVA (tanning rays). These can be found as facial bulbs (500-800w)in lay down beds, and Body bulbs (1000w) in the UltraBronz bed.  UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin layers and activate more tanning cells (melanin) to bring out that beautiful bronze colour.

***  Please note that we recommend that when maintaining a tan, it is best to alternate equipment that features different lamp technology at times, to get a mix of UVA/UVB rays that will give you the best results.
